Are you ready for some football!!!!?!!!
My favorite time of the year has officially started...football season!!!!

And our old quarterback Jay "the crybaby" Cutler was sacked twice and lost the game opener for his new Chicago team by getting picked off with only a minute left on the clock. he he.

Update on the kiddos
Thomas:
He is going through another clingy stage. Part of it could have to do with the fact that he has been watched a lot the last couple of weeks due to Jeff's surgery. But he won't leave me alone for more then ten minutes without wanting to me to pick him up, hold him or play with him. Makes getting things done a little difficult but we'll get through it.
We are trying to get him to drink milk out of a sippy cup. I've been giving it to him during meals but once he realizes milk is in the cup he won't drink anymore. We tried not giving him a bottle before bed but that was a disaster. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
He loves it when we read books together. He will bring me a book from his room and sit down next to me without me even having to ask. His favorite book right now is a book I had when I was little called I love Jesus. He has just started kissing Jesus on every page. Its so cute!!! He has also mastered climbing. He can get on and off of the couch unassisted and he can somehow reach what is on top of the kitchen counter. Time to baby proof again :)
Amazingly enough he is saying a lot of words. Most of them only Jeff and I understand but he is getting the general idea of communication and his words are becoming more enunciated by the day. He can say:
ya, ball, up, dog, toes, football, bird, bubbles, duck, baby, open and all done. It is seriously so crazy how fast they pick things up!

Life's Miracles
Denise and I were talking the other day about high school and how we thought it would be so cool if we married brothers and were pregnant at the same time and lived next door to each other. 2 outta three isn't bad! :) I'm so blessed to call her family.

Trip to Missouri
The next day we visited Grandma and Grandpa Groves. Thomas took a liking to Grandpa right away which was great.
Grandma, of course, was in the kitchen making her noodles. They are the first thing that everybody wants when they go to Grandma's. They are soooooo good! We took some pictures of of everybody sitting on the swing. That swing is one of the places I have fond memories of from my childhood. These pictures meant a lot to me.
We also found the fake duck that has been in their backyard for years. We have a picture of Krisitin somewhere sitting on this duck when she was a little girl. We had to create a tradition :)

Update on the kiddos
I've officially hit the 7 month mark! This means that I am on the downward slope to the delivery. I'm now considered to be in my 3rd trimester. This last week she has really grown a lot. My stomach feels stretched to the max. here is what http://www.babycenter.com/ has to say about this week of pregnancy
Thomas:
He has gotten great on his feet and has now started to run. When he gets really excited he puts both hands up to the sky and runs with the biggest smile on his face. He babbles all time. Most of the time it sounds like he's saying "busy bee" or "yabba dabba doo" He can understand most things when I speak to him. Its so nice to finally be able to communicate with him. He says "up" and "ball" very clearly. And for the first time this week he said "ba-bye". He just recently mastered the shape sorter. If I show him where to put the shape, he can put it in the hole by himself. Thats his favorite new game.Thursday, July 30, 2009
He's baaack
So I prepared myself for his arrival by shutting the blinds and laying low until I knew it was safe to leave my house without accidentally running into him. After talking to a close friend, and
very good advice giver, I realized that I have become a prisoner in my own home and that I should do something about this. I have ALWAYS been a huge believer in following your gut instinct and luckily I have the spirit to help me as well. So why wasn't I doing that now? She pointed out that humans are the only creatures that question their instincts. In the wild, if an animal gets a sense of danger they don't sniff around to be absolutely sure that they are going to be eaten. They just run! So after a lot of thought I called UPS and told them that I didn't feel comfortable with him and wanted to request another driver. The operator was very helpful and sounded concerned and told me that she would put the claim in and someone would be calling me in the next hour to talk to me about it.Wednesday, July 22, 2009

Getting to know me
I saw this on one of my friends blogs, liked the idea and decided to do the same. Hope you enjoy.
1. A picture of you in your bedroom
2. A picture with someone you don't actually like
3. Youngest photo of me
This photo is of me and my mom in my nursery in Kansas. I was 10 months old. This picture gives me warm fuzzys cause my mom looks so nurturing and happy. I love this picture.

Its actually a little on the scary side. hahaha. It was a game night with some on the Glamour Shots girls and we were getting ready to play chubby bunny.

6. A picture of me truly being myself
Yes, its how I feel about most people. At least I deliver the truth with a smile on my face :)

8. A picture of a time in your life you wish wasn't over

Moving to LA was a big culture shock. Most of the people I met had enough friends and didn't care to make any more. Pretty lonely when you move away from home alone. Here is the group of "friends" that so kindly pretended to care while we were in each others lives. After I left I never heard from a single one of them. Glad this period of my life only lasted 6 months! After that I made the most wonderful friends.

11. A picture with someone I love
12. A picture of how I want the world to see me.

14. A picture that makes your heart smile
My grandparents. The two most real people you will ever meet. And they are still in love after more then 60 years. AMAZING!

15. A picture when everything was changing
Our first family photo. Nothing like parenthood to take your life on a roller coaster ride. Wouldn't change a thing :)
16. On of the best days/nights of my life

A pregnant woman's journal

get when you're pregnant. It is so amazing what the body can do. I am lucky enough to be having a girl this time which is AWESOME! We've chosen a name for her. Its going to be Kahlia Marie. We aren't quite sure on the spelling yet but we both really like the name. It means beauty in Hawaiian. I'm getting so excited to meet her!! It's amazing how much a baby is loved even before it makes its appearance in the world. I can't wait to see what she looks like or what her little personality is going to be like. Hopefully she is sweet like Thomas :)
e. I try not to worry to much about cleaning the house and spend more time playing, rocking, teaching, singing and goofing around with him. Its also really important for me to try to teach him how to clean-up and listen to mom and dad. Those are things that are going to be VERY helpful once Kahlia is here. I know that having two kids under the ages of 18 months is going to be difficult and at times feel impossible. And I know that I will have my days that we all just cry together :) but I am blessed with an amazing family. They have been such a big help and have been such an active part in Thomas' life. I love them for that :) Plus once the kids get a little bit older they will have so much fun playing together. Thomas is going to be su
ch a great big brother, I can already tell.
